REVIEW: Tan Fjallraven Kanken Classic Backpacks
00:02
Recently I purchased the infamous Kanken Classic Backpacks from ilovemykanken.com/ in the colour Tan. The backpack itself is aesthetically pleasing and is incredibly popular throughout the world due to the sturdiness and the storage in the bag.
Comfort | + + + + +
I've worn the backpack for a few days now, carrying about three school textbooks, the straps were creatively placed which provided more comfort when carrying the backpack. It didn't feel as bulky, or heavy. The straps, being only very thing, didn't dig too deeply into my body when wearing, especially carrying a heavy load~ The bag really surprised me in terms of comfort, especially since I didn't expect that weight, alongside with the straps, not even cushioned, to still remain wearable.
Style + Features: + + + + +
The style of the backpack is very adorable, resembling the backpacks used during school days. The backpack is very versatile in terms of carrying, as you can wear it as a backpack or a carry luggage (as provided with the straps above). The bag consists of a front pocket (useful for small items like keys or phone), two side pockets which can carry a small water bottle or an umbrella, a laptop sleeve inside the bag, cushioned with this material (most likely preventing laptop to be squashed).
Quality: | + + + +
The quality is decent, however I noticed after a few days of using there is a tiny amount of fraying on the stitches, but nothing too noticeable. What I enjoy is the complex stitching on the straps, which is a nice insurance that prevents any breaking or wearing from long uses of the bag. The bag is water resistant, although needs to be regularly maintained via a wax which you could purchase on the website.
Colour: | + + + +
Not going to lie, originally I was going to purchase a different colour until I was notified the colour I bought was out of stock (the customer service was fantastic), I was hesitant with Tan because there wasn't many reviews or photos of people wearing the backpack so the website was the only way to determine the colour. I ended up buying anyway, which I'm glad. The backpack is a beautiful, earthy colour which really suits any outfit or colour combination, especially if you're on the darker spectrum of colours in fashion. The logo isn't pure white as shown in many photos, it's a slight yellow hue which isn't noticeable at first. The fox of the logo is a vibrant red, which really complements the bag's colour.
Size + Storage | + + + +
This bag is honestly the Mary Poppins's of the bags, I was really skeptical if the bag could hold many items at once, especially comfortable and not bulky. The size is decent, nothing too big or strange as if you were carrying a hiking backpack, and the size is in perfection ratio to my body. The only downside of the bag is that the opens like a flap, so more items are prone to fall out, rather than open from above. However, if you are a student like me~ the bag is perfect for the student life.
Price + Shipping | + + + + +
It's not secret that the backpacks are on the higher-end, however what you pay is what you get. The price for this bag was £70 GBP, equating to $143.79 AUD. The backpack also had an additional 15% at the moment (most likely Christmas sale), and if you lived outside Europe, VAT got deducted during your purchase, an ADDITIONAL 20% was taken from the price. Unbelievable~ I was so excited when I saw altogether 35% taken off, so I ended buy purchasing it for $107.31 AUD c:
I ordered my bag on the 8th of Decemeber, and it arrived nicely before Christmas on the 23rd of December. There was no hassling with shipping c:
I love the backpack so much!~~ The bag altogether was expensive, but the style and quality of the bag compensates it greatly! I seriously recommend anyone getting this bag, the style suits anybody and the extra storage inside is extremely useful.for whatever you're doing :D
Overall: + + + + ~~
Hope you enjoyed my review! Thank-you for reading :D
